How we decide what to build
Three questions get asked before any build starts.
Nothing we build depends on fooling someone into thinking they are dealing with a person. If a build only works because of that deception, we do not build it.
A bot that replaces the person who answers the phone is not the same as automation that sorts the queue so that person has time for the hard conversations. We build the second kind.
We ask what the recovered hours are for. If the answer is more time on the craft and with the people, we build. If the answer is more volume with fewer people, we do not.

If a process repeats every week, eats hours, and produces the same shape of output each time, you are ready. Someone in the firm has usually already said "we should automate this". If a process is not there yet, the discovery call will say so and we will not sell you a build.
Every engagement is quoted as a fixed price before work starts, after a free discovery call. The quote is what you pay, and the price only changes if you change the scope and approve the new price first. The monthly advisory and build service run month to month.
Work is delivered in two-week sprints and the quote states the timeline. A single email automation is a short build. The research report writing assistant for the Institute for Security Studies ran twelve weeks in six sprints, and a later rebuild of it ran six weeks from kick-off to go-live.

Make.com runs the workflows, Airtable holds structured data where a build needs it, and Claude and OpenAI handle the drafting, classification and extraction. Everything is wired into what you already run, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho. Where a mail rule solves the problem, we use the mail rule and skip the rest.
Builds run on your own accounts wherever possible, so your data stays under your control and POPIA obligations stay with the people who already carry them. At handover you own the accounts and the data. When the Institute for Security Studies took over their system in 2026, the Make.com, Airtable, OpenAI and Anthropic accounts were created in their name and the system was transferred to them.
